Michel Camilo & Tomatito - Spain Again (2006)

mp3 @ 320 Kbps | 120 Mb. | Flamenco, Jazz, Easy Listening

Second collaboration between two virtuous musicians of piano and flamenco guitar in a new approximation to a common point

for flamenco and latin jazz

‘Spain’ otra vez.

Chick Corea - The Ultimate Adventure (2006)

Chick Corea - The Ultimate Adventure (2006)

Chick Corea - The Ultimate Adventure (2006)

mp3 @ 320 Kbps | 115 Mb. | Jazz, Easy Listening

Chick Corea was recently named a National Endowment for the Arts “Jazz Master”, and there is little doubt that he has total command of the idiom. Indeed, Mr. Corea is one of the few jazz musicians who has not only worked in a rainbow of styles but also has been commercially successful across the board.

He has been a delicate solo pianist, an avant-garde piano trio leader, a Miles Davis sideman, an accomplished composer and bandleader in a Latin style, a fusioneer, a Bud Powell interpreter, even a smooth jazz guy. That’s only a partial list, yet Chick has pioneered—and sold records—everywhere.

The Ultimate Adventure is a stunning record because it summarizes a huge swath of Chick’s career. It is a seamless and ingenious blend that even incorporates an element or two that are new to the Corea canon. It would be hard to call it Chick’s best album, as nearly every fan will prefer a disc that works magic in one or another favorite Corea style, but it is surely the artist’s most successful attempt to collect all that he does in one piece of music.

Mr. Corea composed these 11 multi-part suites as tone poems to match the characters and settings from a science fiction fantasy written by you know who. As a result they are inherently descriptive—like musical portraits and landscapes. At the same time, they are meant to (and do) have a sense of drama and action. The compositions are immediately recognizable as Chick’s: precise written bass lines, jaggedly pretty melodies, Latin grooves that provide plenty of room for a stabbing piano chord or a butterfly quick Rhodes solo, intricate parts-writing for flute, bass, saxophone, synth, guitar. The difference with The Ultimate Adventure is that Mr. Corea’s tunes seem effortless again—this recording seems to share something of the light-as-a-feather feel that defined the first Return to Forever band of the 1970s with Joe Farrell on flute Stanley Clarke on bass, and Airto Moreira on percussion. It’s a welcome return to a more playful Corea.

Gandalf - Sacred River (2006)

Gandalf - Sacred River (2006)

Gandalf - Sacred River (2006)

mp3 @ VBR 192-320 Kbps | 79 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

Amazon.com
A pleasant though modest recording, Sacred River is the third domestic release from Gandalf, an Austrian guitarist/multi-instrumentalist whose serene, sometimes atmospheric compositions can evoke comparisons to the music of 2002, David Arkenstone, and Secret Garden--even Mike Oldfield in a restful mood. Gandalf seems in an especially restful mood on Sacred River, a recording that mostly sidesteps the subtle drama and faint cosmic undercurrents that gave his two previous recordings just a hint of an edge. Even so, he manages to create some notable impressions here: the slow glide into sustained bliss heard on "Silent Joy," the welcoming stroll to undisturbed peace on "A Visionary Passage," and the float-away contentment of "Where the River Joins the Ocean." Meanwhile, most other selections revolve around quiet, guitar-focused pieces that, while calming, exude generic qualities that tend to leave listeners adrift in thematic flat water. Still, as a meditative/relaxing audio backdrop, it's an agreeable listen. Point of interest: The liner notes for the first time carry a photo of the artist, whose long white locks at first glance bring to mind Tolkien's Gandalf, as played in The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Ian McKellen. --Terry Wood

Product Description
Inspired by Siddhartha, who learns from the wise old ferryman to listen carefully to the voices of the river until he hears the eternal song of oneness and harmony, Gandalf invites you to imagine yourself in a boat on the Sacred River, letting the music be your ferryman, taking you gently across the water.

Gandalf intricately weaves the sounds of acoustic, classical, and electric guitars with keyboard, percussion, piano, and soundsamplers for his enchanting sonic tale.

VA - Windham Hill Presents Ambient Acoustic (2002)

VA - Windham Hill Presents Ambient Acoustic (2002)

mp3 @ 320 Kbps | 345 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

What's surprising about this collection is not that they did it, but that it took them so long. Windham Hill records, and the label it swallowed, Private Music, wrote at least a chapter or two on chill-out music. But they've never targeted that audience before. This double CD draws from the usual Windham Hill-Private Music suspects and creates a seamless listening experience, ambient on disc one, acoustic on disc two. Disc One: Ambient features some of the pioneers of ambient music: Mark Isham, Tangerine Dream, and Patrick O'Hearn. But most of the disc draws from the melodic, bucolic, and orchestral side with State of Grace, David Arkenstone, and even Yanni. None of them are ambient by any stretch, but they do fall into an elegant flow that's more evocative than chilled. Disc Two: Acoustic has all the Windham Hill pioneers, including George Winston, Will Ackerman, Michael Hedges, and Philip Aaberg. Together, they create a pastoral flow from solo guitars to small chamber ensembles. I wouldn't bring this disc into a chill-out room, but for elegant atmospheres and pastoral moods, Windham Hill Chill has more than enough charms.

mp3 @ 192 Kbps | 70 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

Mariner is an ideal album for relaxation, especially if this is your first advernture into music of this kind. Gentle

melodies, using panpipes and floating orchestras, are set to a soothing background of distant ocean waves.

If you enjoy sleeping by the sea, then Mariner will help bring those relaxing sounds into your home. Seagulls, ships' horns

and bells - it really creates an atmosphere of peace. I've received many many letters from folks who either live on boats or

enjoy sailing, saying that the album brings to them the song of the sea.

Johannes Linstead - Sol Luna Tierra (1999)

mp3 @ 128 Kb. (sorry) | 41 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

Very well done CD from recording to musical arrangement with explosive and dynamite Flamenco/Pop styled by Linstead's guitar. Highly recommended!

Music Design, May/June 1999
"With masterful fretwork and vivid imagination, exciting young acoustic guitarist Johannes Linstead blends the best of traditional and contemporary South American/Caribbean melodies on this passionate, original and deeply emotional recording. Beginning with the beautiful first selection, "Mountain Mist," and throughout the following ten tracks, Linstead creates music that reflects the exciting sounds of nouveau flamenco with an amazingly strong debut album. From poignant and contemplative to fiery and provocative, Sol Luna Tierra embraces the many sounds and emotions of this striking genre of music."

Ron Gudino, RPM Magazine
"...Johannes Linstead is certainly among the cream to rise to the top of the (nouveau flamenco) genre with a strong debut titled Sol Luna Tierra (Sun Moon Earth). Linstead brings primal drums and a gypsy flute to bear on his flamenco flourishes and meticulous rhythms, adding a unique and independent voice to the musical parlance of his influences. Which means, in laymen's terms, that Linstead's original pieces are veritable daydreams for the easy listening/instrumental audience market which will swoon on first contact with the single titled 'Mountain Mist'..."

Andreas Vollenweider - Kryptos (1998)

Andreas Vollenweider - Kryptos (1998)

mp3 @ 192 Kb. | 60 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

On his 1998 album, Kryptos (Sony Classical), Swiss harpist Andreas Vollenweider created a world music symphony using full orchestra and musicians from Japan, Mongolia, South Africa and more. Andreas talked about his world music sound and the imagery that's always behind his elaborately titled compositions.

Andreas Vollenweider was one of the few musicians to gain superstar status as a "new age artist" back when the term was first used as a marketing category in the mid-'80s. The Swiss harpist, however, quickly transcended the need for alternative record sales when his albums simultaneously broached Billboard's pop, jazz, and classical charts in 1986. Born in Zurich in 1953, Vollenweider was ensconced in the city's fine art scene, courtesy of his father, one of Europe's leading organists. After becoming proficient on guitar, flute, and other instruments, the young Vollenweider developed a passion for the harp, which he modified to suit his needs. Not only did he construct a damper to expedite more rhythmic playing, he broadened the harp's tonal range by electrifying it. His buoyant funk beats, exotic pan-cultural influences, and colorful harp improvisations began to sweep Europe in the early '80s as Vollenweider signed with CBS Records to release Behind the Gardens...Behind the Wall. Three albums later, he won his first Grammy for 1987's Down to the Moon. Over the years, Vollenweider has managed to maintain his artistic integrity and vision despite increasing commercial success. The harpist's 1991 album Book of Roses is a testament to his ability to expand his scope as a composer while keeping his trademark sound intact; after a lenghty hiatus, he issued Kryptos in 1998, followed two years later by Cosmopoly. ~ Linda Kohanov, All Music Guide

Andreas Vollenweider - Eine Art Suite in XIII Teilen (1984)

Andreas Vollenweider - Eine Art Suite in XIII Teilen (1984)

mp3 @ 192 Kb. | 54 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

A rare import-CD from Switzerland, it features early material not found on any other release and is worth looking for. ~ Paul Kohler, All Music Guide

Andreas Vollenweider - Dancing With The Lion (1990)

Andreas Vollenweider - Dancing With The Lion (1990)

mp3 @ 192 Kb. | 54 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

A lion's roar sets the tone for this continuation of Andreas Vollenweider's ever-evolving creative vision. This music for electroacoustic pedal harp, cheng, synthesizer, solo voice, chorus, percussion and a variety of other instruments is so unique and multi-textured that it tends to defy description. If pressed, I'd term the offerings on this album a fusion of the best of jazz and New Age elements with flavorings from Africa, the Orient, and somewhere far off-planet. Energizing and calming, ethereal and grounding, tantalizing and satisfying, it is an unexpected blending of extremes into a truly artful soundscape that transports you to a world free of woes and full of magic. Beginning with "The Trilogy" and "Down to the Moon", Vollenweider continues his musical journeys here, and then enhances his signature sound in ever new and intriguing ways in "Eolian Minstrel", "Book of Roses", "Kryptos" and "Cosmopoly".

Andreas Vollenweider - The Essential (2000)

Andreas Vollenweider - The Essential (2000)

mp3 @ 160 Kb. | 85 Mb | New Age, Easy Listening

Surveying the Andreas Vollenweider's career from his 1981 worldwide debut, Behind the Gardens, Behind the Wall, Under the Tree to 2000's Cosmopoly. The Essential concentrates on the Swiss harpist's upbeat, jazzier, and occasionally sappier material, leaving the more textural, emotionally ambiguous pieces aside. Nevertheless, there's a breadth of vision represented on this single CD that shows a musician who's always searching, in the process finding affinity with Ladysmith Black Mambazo on "Passage to Promise" and Milton Nascimento on "Cor Do Amor." Vollenweider's albums have always been meticulously recorded, with each instrument given its own acoustic space, creating an encompassing sense of architecture. But the re-mixes here improve the sound dramatically, especially on the earlier works. For the Vollenweider fan, there's nothing new here, but for the uninitiated, this is a good place to start. --John Diliberto

Craig Chaquico - Four Corners (1999)

Craig Chaquico - Four Corners (1999)

mp3 @ 192 Kb. | 72 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

Craig Chaquico continues his conversion from eclectic pop guitarist to smooth jazz disciple on this, his fifth solo project and his first recording since From the Redwoods to the Rockies, a 1998 collaboration with contemporary jazz icon Russ Freeman. Here the nimble fretwork and fresh, free-spirited qualities of his early solo works are largely submerged in a sax-heavy ensemble in which Chaquico plays a supplementary role. At times, such as during the languid "Haight Ashbury," you may think you're listening to Earl Klugh, not the former guitarist for Jefferson Starship. With low-key, groove-minded production from Freeman, Rick Braun, Paul Brown (Boney James), and William Aura (3rd Force), smooth jazz fans likely will find many relaxing moments here. It should be noted that the album's title track is actually a smooth-jazz reworking of a top-down, open-road Chaquico classic, "Acoustic Traveler," from A Thousand Pictures. The album's highlight: "Arizona Daybreak," where Chaquico allows himself to stretch out and let his six strings sing. --Terry Wood

Artenara - Junonia Minor (2002)

Artenara - Junonia Minor (2002)

mp3 @ VBR | 155 Mb. | New Age, Spanish Folk

Also includes a Multimedia CD-Rom with lots of info... Recommended!!!

More info at:
http://www.artenara.com

Audio CD (January 10, 2006)
Label: Water Music Records

The number of electronica-spawned compilations that are designed for swank chilling must be in the thousands by now, but Water Music's Dirty Martini is an inspired collection despite its groan-worthy title and predictable packaging (martini glass on the front, half-naked urbanite vixen on the back). Nostalgic, cool, and campy numbers from Ursula 1000 and the Frank Popp Ensemble warrant the connection to the cocktail culture while dreamier, more subdued tracks from the Dining Rooms and Grand Pianoramax -- with the ever tasteful and tasty Nuspirit Helsinki on remix duties -- give the collection some depth. It's a well-chosen and sequenced offering from the label and delivers on the cover's promise of "sultry."

Souad Massi - Mesk Elil (2005)

mp3 @ VBR 192~250 | World Music, Easy Listening

Souad Massi left Algeria for France to become a major celebrity with her unlikely fusion of north African styles and sad, gentle western folk ballads. Now she is moving on. The overall mood is still quietly tragic, and enthusiasts of her gently powerful singing and thoughtful songs will be delighted by Hagda Wala Akter (There's Worse) which deals with the depressing life of a friend back in Algiers, or a personal lament like Khalouni. But like some female Algerian answer to Morrissey, she is clever enough to match bleak lyrics with subtle and increasingly varied musical settings. So on the exquisite Malou, she brings in flamenco influences and on Ilham she provides a vocal reminder of her Berber roots.

Red Buddha - Siddhartha In Space (2005)

Red Buddha - Siddhartha In Space (2005)

mp3 @ VBR 192~250 | New Age, Easy Listening

This Austrian production, composed and performed by Double X-Dee, continues the Germanic world-ambient sound so expertly demonstrated by Blue Chip Orchestra. Each track contains a smattering of vocal samples with heavy layers of synthesiser strings and bubbling electronica. However while Blue Chip Orchestra’s Native American themed album was more introspective and ambient, Red Buddha would not sound out of place in many world trance clubs. Tracks are epic explorations of Western dance music in a Far Eastern world. Thrown into the mix are vocal snippets from the region — ranging from guttural Buddhist chants to Tibetan folk singing — while Lenny Mac Dowell contributes synth and bamboo flute playing. These elements occasionally sound foreign in the mix, as if they were added after the main composition instead of the music being built around them, but for the most part the arrangements are seamless. While the opening track lulls you into the album, the pace is heightened by Trip to Lhasa HO and Freedom for Tibet with their thumping drumloops. Basslines on tracks such as Gong Chi and Walk to the Inside are reminiscent of Delerium’s albums. Double X-Dee expanded his sound into India on the follow-up album Siddhartha In Space, which features a host of live singers and performers. While the group's strong trance-rhythm focus won’t appeal to everyone, if you enjoyed Professor Trance or need a Far Eastern album with more edge, look no further than Red Buddha.

Ojos de Brujo - Bari (2002)

Ojos de Brujo - Bari (2002)

mp3pro @ VBR | 46 Mb. | New Flamenco, Spanish Folk, Chill

Ojos de Brujo sing "in a rumba dub style" on their 2001 debut album Vengue (Edel). The Catalan collective don't only rewrite a Bob Marley lyric, their whole musical aesthetic is based on joyously reinventing flamenco and Catalan rumba.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/world/awards2003/images/ojosdebrujo.jpg
From the moment it starts, there's no doubt that this an album of now. Energetic, assertive and joyful, it does what you want a record to do: it changes the mood and makes life seem full of possibilities.

Reaching back to flamenco and rumba, grabbing handfuls of hip hop, dub and modern-sounding drum licks and bass lines (but not drum-and-bass!), the group makes forward-looking music that could definitely have been made only in Spain and probably only in Barcelona.

Usually, the most interesting popular music has been made far from the cities where the major international record companies have been based. For the twenty years from 1952 to 1972, the American South was the best place to make adventurous records. For the next thirty it could have been Kinshasa in Zaire or the capital cities of Guinea, Mali or Senegal. Right now, some of the most creative locations are bordering the Mediterranean: Marseilles, Naples, Istanbul, Cairo, and especially Barcelona.

It's not a matter of simply moving to the right place and expecting the magic to rub off; you have to be based there, be part of the culture, and be able to absorb some of what is flying through the air around you. Ojos de Brujo is the band in the right place at the right time. Although the group (whose name means "Eyes of the Wizard") previously made a good debut album, Vengue, it featured the lead vocals of Dani, leader of another Barcelona group, Macaco, and it did not have the distinctiveness of Bari, which is in many ways a new beginning.

The vocals are now shared between Marina La Canillas and Lucy, and it is their interplay that gives the album its character. First time through, the song that particularly jumped out was 'Nalta', its strong flamenco elements updated without being softened or processed. But with each play, the inventiveness of the groups style and the consistency of the material become more apparent.

Llewellyn & Juliana - Earth Angel (2004)

MP3 @ 256 Kb. | 110 Mb | new age

EARTH ANGEL is an album for people who sense they are different and have a passion for wanting to help others and animals.

They care about the Earth and feel a strong connection with nature. Somehow life often seems to be a struggle and they sense the suffering and negativity around them. They desperately want to heal and teach and change the World through Love.

The album is hopefully a stepping stone that gives those special people the strength to realise their spiritual realm origin and move forward in their relationships and feel better about themselves and all aspects of their lives.

Craig Chaquico - Panorama - The Best of Craig Chaquico (2000)

Craig Chaquico - Panorama - The Best of Craig Chaquico (2000)

mp3 @ 192 Kb. | 98 Mb. | New Age

When former Jefferson Starship guitarist Craig Chaquico (cha-KEY-so) reinvented himself as a pop instrumentalist in 1993 (the year he released Acoustic Highway, his solo debut), he brought the still-fledgling contemporary instrumental genre one of its freshest sounds in years. Chaquico blended skillful pop-rock-blues songcraft with studio savvy to produce a lush, layered acoustic sound so full-bodied that at times he seemed to be leading a guitar choir. His initial hit, the title track from that first disc (and the concluding piece on this best-of package), remains one of the most cheerfully infectious tunes in this category. Other selections on Panorama, a retrospective that samples his first five recordings, also capture the hip, lyrical joyfulness of Chaquico's early work ("Native Tongue," "Sacred Ground," "Return of the Eagle"), where new melodic ideas might pop up at any point in the composition. Elements of smooth jazz began surfacing on his third disc, A Thousand Pictures, and that trend has persisted ever since, draining some of the organic, free-spirited spark from Chaquico's music. The two new tunes found on this disc, "Café Carnival" (a Latin big-band production) and "Beyond Words," suggest that pattern still prevails, and while Chaquico can make smooth jazz sound pretty good (try "Sweet Talk"), that easy-listening glaze is an unnecessary crutch for such an imaginative player. Nevertheless, Panorama is an attractive package; just a touch too sweet in places. --Terry Wood

Craig Chaquico - Midnight Noon (2004)

Craig Chaquico - Midnight Noon (2004)

mp3 @ 128 Kb. (sorry) | 42 Mb. | New Age, Easy Listening

Among instrumental artists tagged with the "New Age" label, former Jefferson Starship guitarist Craig Chaquico is one of the few who energized the genre with music bearing a distinctive personal imprint. Chaquico's early recordings (Acoustic Highway, Acoustic Planet) were amiable affairs made memorable by their waves of chiming, glistening chords and refreshing pop-rock propulsion. Yet smooth jazz flourishes gradually crept into his compositions, absorbing his guitar into a generic sax-bass-keyboard mix that obscured his individual stamp. Midnight Noon, his eighth release, is a modest but encouraging move toward more of a middle ground. Chaquico, said to play 50 different guitars on this recording's 10 likeable, upbeat selections, still exhibits an allegiance to jazz (with brassy big-band and Latin accents surfacing at random intervals), yet includes a few pop-infused charmers ("Her Boyfriend's Wedding," "Outlaw in the City," "Always with You") that serve as welcomed throwbacks to his original, looser sound. While at times it sounds as if Chaquico is composing tautly structured television themes ("Jazz Noon"), several of his animated solos (try "El Gato") remind you just how well this guy can play. --Terry Wood

Barbra Streisand – Memories (1986)

Barbra Streisand – Memories (1986)

mp3 @ 224 Kb. | Vocal Talents, Easy Listening

In November of 1981, Barbra Streisand released her twenty-seventh album entitled MEMORIES. This album is actually another greatest hits compilation, her third greatest hits package if you count them one by one. This is a greatest hits compilation with the inclusion of two new songs that seem to have fit this album perfectly.

MEMORY
New song. This song is actually the theme song to the Broadway musical play, CATS. This is such a beautiful song and Barbra sings it so beautifully.

YOU DON'T BRING ME FLOWERS (Duet with Neil Diamond) (Duet version)
From the album BARBRA STREISAND'S GREATEST HITS VOLUME 2 (1978). Original version from the album SONGBIRD (1978). Great song.

MY HEART BELONGS TO ME
From the album STREISAND SUPERMAN (1977). Amazing song.

NEW YORK STATE OF MIND
From the album STREISAND SUPERMAN (1977). Not a favorite, but still a good song.

NO MORE TEARS (ENOUGH IS ENOUGH) (Duet with Donna Summer) (Single Version)
Original version from the album WET (1979). 12" Version from Donna Summer's albums ON THE RADIO: GREATEST HITS VOLUMES 1 & 2 (1979) & THE DANCE COLLECTION (1987). This song is just the best Diva duet I have ever heard. I wish that Madonna & Cher would team up for the second-best Diva duet.

COMIN' IN AND OUT OF YOUR LIFE
New song. Great song.

EVERGREEN
From the original motion picture & motion picture soundtrack A STAR IS BORN (1976). A beautiful song. This is such a beautiful song.

LOST INSIDE OF YOU (Duet with Kris Kristofferson)
From the original motion picture & motion picture soundtrack A STAR IS BOWN (1976). This is another beautiful song, but I think that Kris Kristofferson needs to stick to acting, rather than sing. Don't get me wrong, Kris' voice is not bad, but I like him better as an actor than a singer.

THE LOVE INSIDE
From the album GUILTY (1980). Not bad.

THE WAY WE WERE
From the album THE WAY WE WERE (1974). From the original motion picture & motion picture soundtrack THE WAY WE WERE (1974). Another beautiful song.

MEMORIES is another album that all Barbra Streisand fans should have by now. If not, then make sure you buy this album because it is very enjoyable. I really do enjoy hearing this album because it is one of Barbra's best, so take my advice and buy this album. I promise that you will not regret it. If you do regret it, then I can say that I tried.

Preamble. This is my first acquaintance with the music of Amarok, though I heard of this Spanish band more than once. "Mujer Luna" (i.e. "Lunar Woman") is the fifth album by Amarok.

The Album. There are ten tracks on this album, five of which are songs, and five, accordingly, instrumental pieces. Stylistically, "Mujer Luna" is a diverse album, though everything that is presented here is marked with signs of a high originality, good taste, and amazing complexity (I didn't make a slip in saying this). Most of all, this album is notable for the broad and very successful application of music of the Middle East (the music of Turkic nations, to be precise), the elements of which are present on most of the tracks here. With the exception of Lullaby For the Son of the Earth (6, to which I'll return a bit later), all of the songs on the album were performed by most of the band members. The contents of the album's title track (1) are about a triple union of Symphonic Art-Rock, Spanish Folk, and music of the East. In the Park, Dreaming Dreams, and Where You Are My Love-1 (2, 4, & 7) are about Symphonic Art-Rock with elements of Classical Music of both of European and Eastern origins and those of Spanish Folk. The first two of them feature in addition the elements of Prog-Metal. The alternation of Rock, intensive and intricate, arrangements and the Classical Music-like ones, based exclusively on the parts of acoustic instruments (acoustic guitar, violin, and flute), is typical for all four of these songs, though Lunar Woman is more accessible than any other composition on the album. Marta Segura is just a wonderful singer, though there are more of the purely instrumental arrangements than vocally instrumental ones on most of the songs here (lyrics are in Spanish), and only one of them: Where You Are My Love-1 features both of the female and male vocals. There are many soloing instruments on each of the aforementioned four songs: piano, organ, Mellotron, electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, marimba, woodwinds, brasses, drums, and varied hand percussion, so the musical palette of each of them is very rich and diverse. As for so-called progressive ingredients, they're everywhere on the album. Lullaby For the Son of the Earth (6) is a beautiful and very touching ballad. Here, the vocals are accompanied only by varied interplay between passages of acoustic guitar and those of piano, all of which, though, are in the state of a constant development, which, in its turn, is typical for Classical Music. Nevertheless, the intonations of Turkic music are evident here as well (in vocals). Three out of five instrumentals: the epic Arabesque and both of the parts of Duet For Tabla & Saz (3, 5, & 10) consist of purely acoustic structures. The constantly developing and quite intensive interplay between passages and solos of acoustic guitar, solos of Turkish Saz and flute and passages of violin is what the first of them is musically about. Of course, both of the latter pieces feature only the solos of Turkish Saz and those of Tabla. (Saz is the kind of acoustic guitar that is widespread in Turkey and among the Turkic nations of Central Asia, and Tabla is the Indian percussion instrument.) Stylistically, all three of the said compositions represent nothing else but Classical Music of Eastern-school. As well as almost all of the songs on the album, both of the remaining instrumentals: the epic Australian Landscapes and Where You Are My Love-2 (8 & 9) were performed by most of the band members. Both of them are about European Classical Music performed by dints of Symphonic Art-Rock.

Summary. "Mujer Luna" is one of the most original and interesting albums that I've heard this year, to say the least, so the summary on it won't be verbose. Highly recommended!
